Ruben and Tom Hopkins flying in between speaking engagements…

I’m off to Scottsdale to speak at Tom Hopkins Sales Bootcamp. It will be great getting to hang out with 700 of the top salespeople in America. Some of the other presenters will be Dave Ramsey, author of “The Total Money Makeover,” and John Miller, author of “The Question Behind the Question,” and “Flipping the Switch.” Scottsdale in August… 115 Degrees!

I’m sure one of the topics discussed will be belief. Because unless you believe in yourself, none of the sales techniques Tom teaches will work. Here are some thoughts on belief…

Believing that something is possible leads to looking for ways to make it possible. The top salespeople that invested a lot of money to attend this bootcamp really believe in themselves. That lead them to look for ways to take their sales careers to the next level.

Wishful thinking does not lead anywhere.

The “how to do it” always comes to the person who believes they can do it. Successful people don’t focus on the how. They focus on the “why.” The “why” will give them the desire and belief to find the “how.”
When you believe, you attract helpers because other people can now see the confidence in you.
Belief is the driving force – the power behind all great accomplishments. For ten years (from the time I say the Olympics on TV as a 10 year old until I was 21) I operated out of wishful thinking. Nothing happened. It wasn’t until I saw Scott Hamilton win the Gold Medal that I believed that I could do it too.

The rest is history…

Your belief determines what you will accomplish in life. The good news is that you can raise your belief level through the books you read and the people you associate with. Start hanging around people who are doing what you want to do.

Hope is not enough. Hope needs action to win victories.

You can do more. When you start believing that you can do more, your mind will look for ways to be more productive.
